چکیده

In view of the importance of noi se in physiology. information processing and fi nance, studi es on chaos and noi se have been undertaken. Detailed stud ies on the lal lowing osc illatory reactions have been undertaken: (i) thi ophenol + BrO,' + H2S0~, (ii ) fruClose + BrO,' + H2S04 + Ce 4 + , and (iii ) iodate + arsenitc, wh ich can serve as a model system for thi s purposc. Aperiodic oscil lations have been observed in these systems. Analys is of phase plane plots yields complex allractors. which arc quite different fro m strange att ractor indicating the occu rrence of random noise. Power spectra also indiccltc chaos with a broad band not necessaril y the determini stic chaos. For the reactions (i) and (iii ), a mechani sm has been proposed in volving precipitation of C6HS-S-C6HS and iod ine, respecti ve ly: whil e in case of reaction (ii ). gasco us evolution of Br2 has been invoked. Experimental studies on sed imentatio n of C6HS-S-C6H, and Br2 evo lu tion confirm that sueh hctcrogeneous reactions play an important role in gcnerating noi sc in osci ll at ions.

Photocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Formaldehyde: Role of Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Reactions in Origin of Life Hypothesis

Photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to formaldehyde was investigated on four semiconductor photocatalysts (FeS, FeS/FeS2, NiO and TiO2). The reaction was carried out in continues flow of CO2 gas bubbled into the reactor. Semiconductor photocatalysts were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopic (DRS) methods. Sulfide ion was used as hole scavenger. T...

Synthetic Application of Magnetic Nanocomposite Fe3O4@PEG-Au as a Heterogeneous and Reusable Nanocatalyst in The Suzuki Coupling Reactions

In the present study, we carried out chemical synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4@PEG-Au as a magnetic nanocomposite in aqueous solution by chemical co-precipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions and encapsulated by poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) in order to enhancing hydrophilicity, biocompatibility and immobilizing gold ions in the presence of NaBH4 as a reducing agent. Nanostructures were characte...

Noise-induced enhancement of chemical reactions in nonlinear flows.

Motivated by the problem of ozone production in atmospheres of urban areas, we consider chemical reactions of the general type: A+B-->2C, in idealized two-dimensional nonlinear flows that can generate Lagrangian chaos. Our aims differ from those in the existing work in that we address the role of transient chaos versus sustained chaos and, more importantly, we investigate the influence of noise...

Chaos Control in a Non-Isothermal Autocatalytic Chemical Reactor

In this paper, a reaction system consisting of two parallel, non-isothermal autocatalytic reactions in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has been considered. Reactor chaotic behavior is possible for certain values of system parameters. Two types of controllers are designed and compared in order to control both the reactor temperature and the product concentration. T...
